As our name suggests we organise birdwatching holidays! Established over 40 years ago in 1965 we were the first birdwatching tour company in the world. Initially set up in Sussex by Lawrence Holloway and now run by Nigel Jones, we are based in Romsey in Hampshire and offer escorted birdwatching holidays all over the world.

 

Having started with tours in Camargue and Lake Neusiedl all those years ago, we now have a suite of over 150 tours, and annually we offer about 80 of these. You can chose from a short five night holiday in France to one of 20 nights in New Zealand. Our destinations are varied but with over 40 years experience you can be assured that the itineraries will be well-researched and probably the best on offer. We are one of the very few companies that use full time professional tour guides and they spend their year escorting our parties, making sure you are well looked after. 

 

The company ethos is basically to enjoy the birds and the holiday!  We are not a company that offers 24 hours a day birding.  We try and place the emphasis on having a holiday – we want to see the wildlife that each country has to offer, but we are also travelling to enjoy the scenery and have some time to relax with a drink and watch the sun go down. 

 

Our website is quite comprehensive and you will find all the tours we have to offer listed here. There are detailed itineraries, past tour reports and bird lists for virtually every holiday we run. We have also given gradings for each tour so you can see whether we deem it to be a particularly easy tour regarding walking and duration in the field, or perhaps slightly more strenuous. There are even photos for many of the holidays taken by tour participants, to give you that real flavour of what you might expect.
